Fleet Overview
Sevan Drilling owns and operates the Sevan Driller on a six-year contract with Petrobras. The next rig, Sevan Brasil, will commence operations on a six year charter contract with Petrobras in Q2 2012.
Two newbuilds of the same design are under construction with expected delivery in 2013 and 2014 respectively.
All four rigs are based on the same Sevan 650 design. The Group is now experiencing an improved construction performance due to the learning curve from construction and operating the Sevan Driller. This has been used to make modifications to the already successful Sevan rig design, enhancing the construction process, and cutting certain construction costs.

Sevan BrasilThe construction of the UDW Sevan Brasil took place at the Cosco Quidong Shipyard. Sevan Brasil is of the same design as Sevan Driller.
Sevan Brasil is contracted to Petrobras S.A. on a six year contract for drilling operations offshore Brazil. The Rig was accepted by Petrobras on 24 July 2012 and spudded it‘s first well on the 31 August in Santos basin at a water depth of 1 800 m. Petrobras S.A is a national oil company founded in 1953 by the Brazilian government. Petrobras has been ranked as the world‘s 3rd largest public energy company and 8th largest company in the world in market value, and closed 2010 with a production of 2.2 million bpd of oil and LNG and 0.4 million boepd of gas. |

Sevan DrillerIn June 2010, UDW Sevan Driller became the world’s first cylindrical drilling rig to commence operation. The rig is currently operating under a six year contract for Petrobras S.A. offshore Brazil.

NewbuildsOn 30 May 2011, Sevan Drilling entered into contracts with COSCO for the construction of two UDW drilling rigs, Sevan UDW3 and Sevan UDW4, based on the same design as Sevan Driller and Sevan Brasil. The rigs are to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2013 and second quarter of 2014. The total all-in turnkey price under the construction contracts is USD 526 million per rig. Payment terms require a 20% down payment which has been made upon execution of the contracts and the remaining 80% is to be paid upon delivery of the rigs.
